This wonderful antique Victorian Silver Butterfly brooch is Circa 1900.

Butterfly or insect jewellery today is highly collectable and was a symbol of good luck to the wearer during the Victorian Eras.

The beautiful brooch is adorned with two blue Paste stones with red Paste eyes and Marcasite encrusted wings.

Marcasite was a popular stone in the Victorian era for it’s dazzling metallic sparkle that resembles a black Diamond.

Blue Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of blue Topaz.

The piece is all set in Silver and fitted with a sturdy pin and safety catch.

This is a lovely butterfly brooch that looks fabulous when worn, a great collectors piece!

Weighs 9.1 grams.

Measures 49mm across x 28mm down.

Central blue Paste measures 5mm x 7mm / Bottom Paste measures 4mm x 9mm.
