Cylindrical glass beads with line of faceted, round garnet and laboratory opal

Glass beads are arranged in 'Mughal' pattern that transitions from gray to light to dark olive green, gold, red-brown, bronze, and dark metallic blue. The artist's progression is then lined with a stunning row of garnet and deep opal.

In her latest summer series, Claire Kahn recalls the array of birds that prevail around her home amongst the picturesque pastureland of Jacona, NM in the Pojoaque Valley. Imagining the rare and exceptional Ibis, she scripts its color in a beautiful pattern, amalgamating her memories into an exquisite, one-of-a-kind work of adornment.
